Using Entries, Results and Settings

Entries: set up the round

Use the controls available for this tool to edit choices, set a range or choose game rules. Review prompts and repeat settings before spinning. The Sound effects switch is below these controls.

Results: review your history

Read previous selections, newest first, and use Clear history when you want an empty list. This leaves the active choices and no-repeat pool intact.

Settings: choose the look and sound

Choose a wheel theme, select a winning sound and preview it. The Sound effects switch here stays synchronized with Entries. Colors and sounds do not change selection odds.

Wheel controls FAQ

Where can I find or clear previous results?

Open Results to see the newest selections first. Clear history removes that list; it does not restore removed winners or reset a no-repeat round. Use the tool’s reset control when you want to start a new round.

How do I change colors or turn sound off?

Open Settings to choose a theme and winning sound. Sound effects is also available in Entries; both switches control the same setting. Turning sound off mutes wheel clicks and the winning sound. Choosing No winning sound only mutes the celebration. Your sound preference is remembered for this English tool in this browser when browser storage is available.

Do themes change the chance of winning?

No. Themes only change appearance. Two-outcome wheels use two colors and three-outcome wheels use three. Repeated labels share a color in the selected theme. Entries, repeated slices and any weights still determine the odds.

Weighted Wheel Spinner: Setup and Example Results

These captures show the current English controls on desktop and phone. Follow the steps below each image; your random results will vary. Select an image to view it at full size.

Set up on desktop

Weighted Wheel Spinner: desktop setup and controls
In Entries, enter distinct outcome labels with positive weights. The displayed chance is each weight divided by the total. On desktop, scroll the control panel to reach any controls below the visible area.

Appearance and sound settings

Weighted Wheel Spinner: Settings panel with themes and sound controls
Open Settings for themes and Winning sound. Scroll the panel to reach lower controls. Sound effects stays synchronized with Entries. No winning sound mutes the celebration while leaving wheel clicks available when Sound effects is on.

Read the result

Weighted Wheel Spinner: completed example and available controls
Read the selected outcome below the wheel. Slice sizes use the same relative weights as selection. In a no-repeat round, remaining chances are recalculated after a winner is removed.

Use it on a phone

Weighted Wheel Spinner: phone layout showing the Results panel
On a phone, the wheel and control panel stack vertically. Open Results to review earlier selections, Entries to adjust the next round, or Settings for appearance and sound.

About this tool

How a Weighted Wheel Works

A weighted wheel gives some choices a larger chance than others. Enter a positive weight for every choice and the tool converts all weights into probabilities based on their share of the total.

Weights do not need to add up to 100. For example, weights of 1, 2, and 7 automatically become 10%, 20%, and 70%. Use the percentage tool when you want to describe the entries as visible odds or prize chances.

How to Use Weighted Wheel Spinner

1

Name each choice

Add at least two choices and give every row a clear label.

2

Enter relative weights

Use any positive numbers. Larger weights create larger calculated chances.

3

Pick and verify

Review the displayed probability for each choice, then generate a result.

Real Examples

These examples show how the tool can turn a common question or list into a clear random result.

Use weights 1, 2, and 7

The wheel converts those relative weights into 10%, 20%, and 70% chances automatically.

Create common and rare prizes

Give a small prize a larger weight and a premium prize a smaller weight, then verify the displayed odds before spinning.

Prioritize tasks

Give urgent tasks larger weights so they are more likely—but never guaranteed—to be selected.

Common Uses

Games and rewards

Make common prizes easier to win and rare prizes less frequent.

Task selection

Favor urgent or high-value tasks without making them guaranteed.

Simulations

Model outcomes with unequal likelihoods and review session totals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do weights have to total 100?

No. The tool divides each weight by the total and displays the resulting percentage.

Can I use decimals?

Yes. Any finite number greater than zero can be used as a weight.

Is this different from the Percentage Wheel?

The mathematics is related, but the purpose is different. Weighted mode emphasizes relative preference or importance; percentage mode emphasizes visible odds, prizes, and probability.

Where is the latest winner, and what does Clear history do?

The selected outcome appears below the wheel as soon as the spin finishes. Results holds earlier picks. Clear history removes those records without restoring used outcomes in a no-repeat round; use Reset round to restore the pool.
